Your new company Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school on the Wirral to recruit a dedicated and reliable Site Manager for an ongoing temporary position. This split-shift role would be ideal for a local candidate looking for consistent hours and the opportunity to play a vital role within a school community.

Your new role As Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, clean and well-maintained, supporting both staff and pupils throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and securing the school site each day
  • Carrying out routine health and safety checks
  • Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are well-maintained
  • Undertaking basic repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Liaising with contractors and overseeing site visits
  • Managing site security and responding to any issues as required
  • Supporting with room setups and school events
  • Monitoring heating, lighting and other site services
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and health & safety procedures

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in a caretaking, site supervisor, premises officer or facilities role
  • Experience working within a school environment is desirable but not essential
  • Good practical maintenance and DIY skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
