Do you enjoy working with numbers, analysing data, and being part of a collaborative business environment?An established and well-respected organisation in the Radstock area is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance experience and strong Excel skills who is looking for a varied role with plenty of exposure across the finance function.
The Role
Working closely with the wider finance team, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and reporting duties, including:
- Bank reconciliations and cash reporting
- Posting journals and maintaining the general ledger
- Producing and submitting promotional and financial data returns
- Weekly KPI reporting and analysis
- Processing payment runs
- Balance sheet reconciliations and nominal ledger reviews
- Supporting month-end and period-end accounting activities
- Raising sales ledger invoices
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and resolving supplier queries
- Assisting with ad hoc finance projects as required
What do you need to demonstrate
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working within a finance or accounts environment
- AAT Level 2 qualification (or equivalent accounting knowledge)
- Strong Excel skills, including the use of formulas and pivot tables
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team
- Confident communication skills and a professional telephone manner
What you'll get in return
- Salary of £26,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time opportunity
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
