The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual academic, social and emotional goals.
Your new role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction needs, learning difficulties and complex needs.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver tailored learning programmes.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access the curriculum.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Support the development of communication, social and independence skills.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications or SEND experience (desirable but not essential).
