At Hays Education, we are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Preston that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing educational environment.
What you'll need to succeed
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, providing tailored support both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence and develop socially and emotionally.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
- Adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and achievements.
