Hays is supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Prenton looking to appoint an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant or HLTA. This role would suit a passionate TA or ECT who enjoys supporting children with SEN and is looking for a varied position across the academic year, combining targeted pupil support with opportunities to lead learning and cover classes when required.
Your new role
You will primarily support pupils within KS2, working closely with children who require additional support to access learning and achieve their potential. Alongside providing targeted interventions and classroom support, you will also have the opportunity to deliver planned lessons and provide class cover across the school when needed. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils, particularly those with additional needs, while maintaining and developing their classroom teaching skills.
What you'll need to succeed
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, HLTA status, or recent teaching experience as an ECT
Experience supporting children with SEN within a primary setting
Confidence leading small groups and delivering planned learning activities
Ability to cover classes when required
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A nurturing, patient and proactive approach
