Electrical Estimator
Location: East of EnglandSalary: £55,000 + Benefits
The OpportunityA well-established Building Services contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its growing pre-construction team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in securing a diverse range of projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and residential sectors.Working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive tenders while helping to identify opportunities, manage risk and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Carry out material and labour take-offs.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Produce accurate cost plans and pricing schedules.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions.
- Attend site visits, tender meetings and client consultations as required.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover following contract award.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing information.
- Support negotiations and tender clarifications when required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Building Services or M&E sector.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and construction methods.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience pricing projects ranging from small works through to multi-million-pound schemes.
- Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Desirable Qualifications
- Electrical qualifications (C&G, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Previous experience working for an M&E contractor or Building Services business.
- Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards.
- Understanding of wider M&E services would be advantageous.
