Your new role
Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity within a well-established and growing construction business? A successful SME construction company is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and provide commercial support to the leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a varied role where they can make a genuine impact on business performance and decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day finance function and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts and financial reports.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee payroll processes and maintain effective financial controls.
- Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors and stakeholders.
- Monitor project profitability and support commercial decision-making.
- Maintain and improve finance processes and reporting systems.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant.
- Strong SME experience with the ability to work autonomously.
- Proven CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) experience.
- Strong VAT knowledge, including preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Experience within the construction, engineering or related sectors.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong commercial acumen.
- AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
