Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Labourer to join a leading organisation within the social housing sector, supporting repairs, maintenance and refurbishment teams across occupied and void residential properties throughout the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hardworking and reliable individual looking to secure long-term work, with the successful candidate initially joining on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful period.
The role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, carrying out general labouring duties and ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently across a varied property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting trades operatives with repairs and maintenance works.
- Carrying out general labouring duties across occupied and void properties.
- Loading and unloading materials, tools and equipment.
- Maintaining clean and safe working areas.
- Supporting property reinstatement and site preparation works.
- Completing pre-start safety checks and risk assessments.
- Reporting access issues, hazards and material requirements.
- Using mobile technology and completing relevant job documentation.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Requirements
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Labourer within construction, maintenance or social housing.
- Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
- Ability to support a variety of trade disciplines.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Strong work ethic and reliable attitude.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
Desirable
- Experience working within social housing maintenance.
- PASMA qualification.
- Abrasive Wheels training.
- Ability to read basic construction drawings.
- Experience supporting multi-trade repairs teams
