Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Carpenter to join a leading organisation within the social housing sector, carrying out responsive repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works across occupied and void properties throughout the East Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled carpenter looking for long-term work with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.The role will involve a combination of carpentry repairs, fire door works and general multi-trade maintenance duties within residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out a wide range of carpentry repairs and maintenance works.
- Fire door maintenance, upgrades and remedial works.
- Repairs and replacements to doors, frames, skirting, architraves and associated joinery.
- Undertaking first and second fix carpentry.
- Completing minor multi-trade works where required.
- Working within occupied and void social housing properties.
- Conducting pre-start risk assessments and adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Using handheld technology to manage and complete work orders.
- Delivering a high standard of customer service whilst maintaining quality workmanship at all times.
Requirements
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent.
- Experience carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance.
- Experience with fire door maintenance, upgrades and remedial works.
- Strong knowledge of residential building maintenance.
- Ability to complete a variety of carpentry tasks independently.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery.
- Social housing maintenance experience.
- Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Basic skills in plastering, tiling, brickwork repairs, plumbing maintenance and general multi-trade works.
