An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a successful and innovative business based in Stockton-on-Tees.
This is a key role within the finance team, offering broad exposure across multiple business areas and the chance to work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and business performance.
Your new role
As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the financial reporting and performance analysis for designated business units.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will deliver accurate and insightful management information while partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include
- Ownership of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for designated business units.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed commentary and variance analysis.
- Production of annual budgets, forecasts and periodic reforecasts.
- Business partnering with budget holders and operational teams to support decision-making and improve financial understanding.
- Analysis of revenue, margins, operating costs and key financial and operational KPIs.
- Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
- Supporting half-year and year-end reporting requirements, including external audit activities.
- Reviewing pricing proposals, customer contracts and commercial opportunities, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- Working closely with Purchase Ledger and Credit Control teams to ensure ledger accuracy and timely resolution of queries.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes, controls and reporting.
- What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have recent management accounting experience and a proven ability to deliver high-quality financial reporting within a fast-paced environment.
