Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and creating thriving communities? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading housing organisation for an experienced and proactive Housing Officer to manage a diverse portfolio of residential properties and estates.
This is a varied, customer-facing role where no two days are the same. You will act as the key point of contact for residents, managing the customer journey from tenancy start through to tenancy end, while helping to create safe, sustainable communities and ensuring high standards across your patch.
As a Housing Officer, you will build strong relationships with customers, carry out home and estate visits, resolve tenancy and neighbourhood issues, and work closely with internal teams, contractors and external agencies to deliver excellent housing services. You will play a key role in supporting customers, addressing community safety concerns, resolving anti-social behaviour issues, and ensuring properties and communal areas remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
You will be responsible for managing a range of tenancy matters including tenancy changes, succession, abandonment cases, enforcement action and legal notices. The role also involves supporting customers with safeguarding concerns, disputes, complaints and tenancy sustainment, while working alongside relevant support agencies where required.
A significant part of the role will involve estate and property management. This includes carrying out inspections, monitoring building safety actions, overseeing communal repairs, liaising with contractors, supporting rent and service charge enquiries, and ensuring estate standards are maintained. You will also represent the organisation at community meetings, multi-agency forums and, where necessary, court proceedings.
About YouTo be successful, you will have experience within housing management, tenancy management or a similar customer-focused environment. You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to manage sensitive situations and resolve complex issues.You should be organised, resilient and comfortable working independently across your patch, while remaining a collaborative team player. Strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to safeguarding, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.Applicants should be comfortable using Microsoft Office and mobile technology, possess excellent record-keeping skills, and demonstrate a strong understanding of customer service principles. Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management practices is desirable, although opportunities for further professional development are available.As this is a community-based role, you will spend a significant proportion of your time out on your patch and must hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use.What's on Offer?This job is offering £25.83 per hour, paid on a weekly basis. This is an initial 6 week contract with potential to extend.
