Business Analyst (IT & VAT Transformation) £500 per day Initial 3-Month Contract Milton Keynes (1-2 days per week onsite)We're seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong IT background and knowledge of VAT accounting to support a key finance transformation programme.
This project is focused on reviewing, rationalising and consolidating VAT codes across the business to improve tax efficiency, simplify VAT processes and ensure systems support the future-state tax operating model.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Tax, IT and business stakeholders to analyse current processes, define requirements and support the delivery of system changes required to achieve the programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, document and validate business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Work closely with Finance, Tax and IT teams to understand existing VAT processes and system configurations.
- Analyse current VAT code structures and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
- Support the design and implementation of IT system changes required to enable improved VAT management and tax efficiency.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings across business and technical teams.
- Produce process maps, requirements documentation and business analysis artefacts.
- Assess impacts of proposed changes across systems, processes and operational teams.
- Support testing, user acceptance testing and business readiness activities.

- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on IT change or transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of business systems, system integrations and change delivery.
- Experience delivering finance, ERP or accounting system change projects.

- Experience working with Finance and Tax stakeholders.
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and stakeholder management skills.
