I'm working with a leading technology-led government department in Milton Keynes who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Product Manager to take ownership of critical, high-value products within a complex and secure environment.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping product direction, ensuring delivery excellence, and maximising value for users and the organisation.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Set the vision and direction for your product(s), ensuring alignment with wider organisational goals, technology strategies, and evolving customer needs.
- Own and drive a clear, value-focused roadmap, balancing competing priorities while maintaining transparency across business stakeholders.
- Lead the end-to-end product life cycle, from shaping requirements through to successful delivery, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and provide measurable value.
- Act as the senior voice of the product, influencing leadership decisions through clear reporting, insight, and strategic recommendations.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and partners, overseeing performance and ensuring services deliver value, compliance, and quality
- Work within structured governance frameworks, contributing to boards and ensuring adherence to standards, controls, and audit requirements
- Translate user needs into actionable product improvements, making informed decisions on enhancements, innovation, and future capability development.
- Collaborate with procurement and commercial teams to manage supplier engagements across their life cycle
- Contribute to the development of future product capability, supporting continuous improvement and organisational growth
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in product management within IT or digital services environments
- Strong understanding of service delivery across the full life cycle, including design, transition, and live service
- Experience working with and managing third-party suppliers in complex delivery environments
- Ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing competing priorities
- Familiarity with structured delivery and governance frameworks, ideally in regulated or government environments
- Certifications such as ITIL4 Foundation, Scrum Product Owner / SAFe Product Manager, or PRINCE2 Agile (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of the government delivery environment or the wider public sector is highly desirable.
This role requires eligibility for SC (Security Check) clearance. You don't need to hold this today but it would be an advantage.
