Are you an organised and proactive professional with experience in school administration, attendance, or pastoral support? We are seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join a supportive school team and play a key role in improving student attendance and engagement.

The Role
As Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and promoting excellent attendance across the school. Working closely with pastoral, safeguarding and senior leadership teams, you will help identify attendance concerns, implement support strategies, and maintain accurate records.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring daily attendance and identifying attendance concerns
- Following up on student absences and lateness
- Communicating regularly with parents, carers and external agencies
- Maintaining accurate attendance records and reports
- Supporting attendance improvement plans and interventions
- Working collaboratively with pastoral and safeguarding teams
- Ensuring compliance with attendance policies and procedures
- Managing attendance information using Arbor and other school systems
About You
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in an attendance, pastoral, administrative, or school-based role Be confident communicating with parents, carers and external professionals Possess excellent organisational and IT skills Be able to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially Work independently while contributing positively to a wider team Have experience using school management information systems Have strong working knowledge of Arbor MIS, which will form a key part of the role
