An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Heating Engineer to join a large and established facilities' management team supporting a high-profile site in Suffolk.
This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of commercial heating systems across a large estate, ensuring critical assets remain safe, compliant and operating efficiently. The RoleAs a Mechanical Heating Engineer, you will undertake both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair work on a range of commercial heating and mechanical systems across multiple locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing oil, LPG and gas-fired heating systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
- Ensuring all plant and equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Completing planned maintenance tasks in line with service schedules
- Responding to reactive breakdowns and emergency call-outs
- Managing work orders via a tablet-based system and scheduling your own workload
- Supervising specialist contractors where required
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Maintaining accurate records and reports using digital systems
- Participating in an on-call rota (approximately 1 in 6/7 weeks)
What You'll NeedTo be considered for this role, you will have:
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent)
- Proven experience working on commercial heating systems xgikmsk
- Current Gas Safe registration
- Experience with oil-fired boilers and associated plant equipment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A full UK driving licence
