Teaching Assistant (SEMH/SEND) in Lutterworth

Woodfield School, part of Henry David Learning Trust, is an innovative and exciting independent special school, supporting children and young people with Autism and associated speech & language, social communication and behavioural difficulties, aged 7 to 19. We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our community and take on the role of Teaching Assistant on a full time, permanent basis.

Due to the nature of our provision, it would be highly advantageous if you have existing knowledge, experience and/or awareness around any of the following: SEN, SEMH, Speech and Language.

The appointed candidate will have key responsibilities that include:

• Creating a learning culture & experience for pupils who find it a challenge to engage with a full programme of onsite learning.
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis to reengage them with onsite learning.
• Collaborating closely with the SENCo and Curriculum Deputy on targeting and agreeing a programme of support and intervention for students, off and onsite.
• Being part of a team that continues to influence and contribute to the Pastoral Team at our school.

• Become responsible citizens.
• Fulfil their potential to lead as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

To achieve these aims we need dedicated members of staff to join us in addressing the needs of children who need help to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the school in order to achieve their full potential.
