SEN Teaching Assistants are required to work within a specialist secondary girls' school supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs. The role will include:
- Supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEN and complex needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom
- Assisting pupils with learning, communication, independence and engagement
- Providing personal care where required
- Supporting pupils with mobility and manual handling
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team
- Maintaining a safe, positive and supportive learning environment
Essential requirements:
- Degree educated
- Previous experience supporting children, young people or adults with SEN is desirable
- Comfortable providing personal care
- Willing and able to undertake manual handling
- Patient, resilient and confident working with pupils with complex needs
- A genuine interest in developing a career within SEN education
