A leading global alternatives advisory firm is seeking an Operational Due Diligence Analyst to join its well-established London team.

Working within one of the largest Operational Due Diligence functions in the industry, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of alternative investment managers across hedge funds, private markets, real assets and credit strategies.

Your new role

As an Operational Due Diligence Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing the operational infrastructure, governance and control environment of alternative investment managers.

Working closely with colleagues globally, you will evaluate operational risks and provide detailed recommendations through high-quality written reports used by institutional investors.

Key responsibilities include

  • Conducting operational due diligence reviews on alternative investment funds and managers across a range of asset classes, assessing operational risks, controls and governance frameworks.
  • Leading meetings and on-site reviews with investment managers, evaluating areas including operations, valuation, compliance, technology, financing arrangements and service provider oversight.
  • Producing detailed written research reports and maintaining ongoing monitoring of assigned managers, highlighting changes in risk profiles and control environments.
  • Reviewing financial statements, fund documentation and other relevant materials to identify operational risks and assess the robustness of internal controls.
  • Liaising with fund managers, service providers and clients to respond to due diligence enquiries and provide expert operational risk insight.
  • Supporting wider business initiatives, industry research, client engagement activities and the ongoing enhancement of due diligence methodologies.
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives across the wider business.
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Minimum three years' experience in operational due diligence, fund auditing, fund accounting, investment operations or a related area within alternative investments.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, internal controls and fund structures across alternative investment strategies.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong academic background, ideally supported by a professional qualification such as ACA, CFA or CAIA, or a desire to pursue one.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with investment managers and institutional clients.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as part of the due diligence process.
