Your new company has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join a progressive public sector organisation. Working as part of a collaborative procurement team, you will play an important role in supporting sourcing activities, contract management, and commercial decision-making across a diverse portfolio of spend. With hybrid working available, there is a need to be in the office 2 days per week.
Your new role involves supporting the delivery of compliant and effective procurement activity, working closely with stakeholders to achieve commercial and operational objectives. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting procurement, commissioning, sourcing, and contract management activities across a range of categories
- Advising stakeholders on procurement processes, commercial considerations, and regulatory requirements
- Assisting with tender exercises and supplier engagement activities
- Managing multiple procurement workstreams simultaneously, ensuring key deadlines and objectives are met
- Supporting the delivery of change initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Identifying and mitigating procurement and contract-related risks
- Producing reports, analysis, and recommendations to support informed decision-making
- Building productive relationships with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experience supporting procurement, commissioning, sourcing, or contract management within a complex organisation
- The ability to develop strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and deliver excellent customer service
- Experience managing competing priorities and delivering multiple projects or workstreams concurrently
- Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations is essential and must be conversant with PA23
- Strong analytical, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
- Commercial awareness with strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a focus on delivering value and service improvements
