Your new company Hays Senior Finance are supporting a highly successful, PE-backed organisation in the West Midlands with the recruitment of a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a fast-paced business that has experienced significant growth through acquisition and continues to invest heavily in its future.
Your new role:
- Reporting directly into the CFO, you will take ownership of key day-to-day activities for the principal trading entity whilst managing a small operational finance team.
- Lead the month-end process and financial reporting for the main trading entity and group holding companies.
- Manage and develop a team covering accounts payable, payroll, banking and finance administration.
- Support the acquisition process, including financial integration and completion of balance sheet reviews.
- Oversee VAT, corporation tax and PAYE compliance, working closely with external advisors.
- Manage year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation.
- Drive improvements to financial controls, processes and reporting.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and management information to support operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to improve data quality and finance processes.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Strong month-end and operational finance experience, ideally gained in a growing or complex business.
- Technically sound with knowledge of tax, VAT, statutory accounts, consolidation and cash flow.
- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and analytical capability.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience of managing and developing finance staff.
- Strong Excel skills and good working knowledge of ERP systems.
