Your new company:
You will be joining a well-established regional construction business delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across the public sector. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects and offers genuine long-term career opportunities for individuals looking to develop and progress within the business. You will be working across projects for clients including the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Department for Education (DfE), providing exposure to secure, technically interesting and varied schemes.
Your new role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of construction projects typically ranging from £150,000 to £5m, with the opportunity to become involved in larger schemes as your experience develops. Working across MOD, Department for Education and other public-sector projects, you will manage projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include subcontractor procurement and management, valuations, cost reporting, forecasting, variations, change control, contract administration and final accounts. You will work closely with operational teams, clients and the supply chain to ensure projects are delivered commercially and contractually effectively.
Experience working with public-sector frameworks, particularly SCAPE, would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong general contracting experience and an interest in developing within this area will also be considered.
What you'll need to succeed:
You will have previous Quantity Surveying experience within a main contractor or similar construction environment, with a good understanding of commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. Ideally, you will have experience delivering refurbishment, new-build or public-sector projects and exposure to framework delivery such as SCAPE.
You should be commercially aware, confident dealing with subcontractors and clients, and comfortable managing multiple projects at different stages. Most importantly, this opportunity would suit someone ambitious who is looking for a business where they can continue developing their commercial knowledge, take on increasing responsibility and build a genuine long-term career.
What you'll get in return:
- Competitive, negotiable salary depending on experience
- Company car, car allowance or salary sacrifice vehicle scheme
- Company pension scheme
- Performance-related bonus scheme
- Annual leave entitlement increasing with length of service
- Genuine opportunities for career development and progression
- Exposure to varied MOD, education and wider public-sector projects
- Long-term opportunity to take on greater commercial responsibility within the business
