Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Huddersfield Secondary School | ASAP Start | Long-Term Until Christmas (Potential Extension)Ready to make a real difference to young people's lives every single day?

Hays Education are proud to be working with a large and supportive secondary school in Huddersfield to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.

This is a full-time, long-term position running until Christmas initially, with a strong possibility of being extended further for the right candidate.

The Role As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group behaviour support.
  • Working alongside teachers to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Helping students remain engaged and focused during lessons.
  • Building strong, professional relationships with young people.
  • Encouraging positive choices and promoting excellent behaviour.
  • Supporting the school's pastoral and behaviour teams when required.

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Experience supporting behaviour in a secondary school or similar setting within the last two years.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

A calm, patient, and resilient approach.

The ability to engage and motivate young people who may face challenges in education.

A genuine passion for helping students succeed both academically and personally.

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Residential Support Worker, or similar role would be highly advantageous.
