Our client is a leading UK construction and infrastructure contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex projects across the energy, water, rail, highways, nuclear and defence sectors.

Operating nationwide, the business is recognised for its engineering expertise, strong safety culture and successful delivery of critical infrastructure for both public and private sector clients.

Your new role

You will be joining the operational team as a Project Manager/Senior Site Manager on a new-build substation control room and associated fit-out.

You will be building a two-storey steel frame building with steel cladding and be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Planning daily work schedules and coordinating workers on site.
  • Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
  • Supervising and providing guidance to construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring materials are supplied and work is completed on schedule.
  • Preparing and submitting project estimates and budgets.
  • Documenting and reporting progress to stakeholders and adhering to compliance regulations
  • What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed, you will have experience working as a Site Manager or a Project Manager within the Construction and Civil Engineering industry.

As mentioned, the project is building a new substation control room and the associated fit-out afterwards.

Therefore, you will need experience working on a steel-frame building with cladding involving dry-lining, fire stopping, fire beam encasement and floor finishes.

Furthermore, you will be competent with contractual work and paperwork.

  • Qualifications wise, you will have SMSTS and a NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management
  • What you'll get in return

In return, you will be joining a Tier-one contractor who is investing heavily in the Energy sector, which is a rapidly growing market and you will have the opportunity to work on a long-term contract which will last around 10-12 months.
