Quantity Surveyor - Fit-Out, Refurbishment & Construction

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Package

A well-established and growing construction business is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in West Yorkshire.
Working across a varied portfolio of fit-out, refurbishment and construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Projects range from commercial refurbishments and CAT A/CAT B fit-outs through to education, healthcare, retail, industrial and public sector construction schemes.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsibilities will include:
- Managing project costs from tender handover through to final account.
- Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and variations.
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
- Monitoring project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Negotiating subcontractor accounts and final settlements.
- Producing cost reports and providing financial updates to senior management.
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
About You
Applicants should possess:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of fit-out, refurbishment and general building projects.
- Experience managing subcontractor procurement and valuations.
- Good understanding of JCT contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
- Experience working for a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor.
- Membership of, or working towards, a professional body such as RICS.
