Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Harrogate to recruit a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.
This is an ongoing, full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the early stages of children's education. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils within the Reception classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Role
As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning within the Reception classroom.
- Work with individuals and small groups to develop key early learning skills.
- Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy and play-based learning activities.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
- Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
- Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children in an Early Years or Primary setting.
- A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for supporting young learners at the start of their educational journey.
- The ability to adapt to the needs of individual pupils and the wider classroom.
