Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a national facilities management PLC to recruit a dynamic Financial & Compliance Accountant to join their rapidly growing team in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing compliance and governance activities performed by the offshore team, ensuring all statutory, regulatory and internal reporting obligations are delivered accurately and efficiently. The role will involve providing technical expertise and support to drive a culture of strong financial controls, high-quality service delivery and continuous process improvement. This permanent position is open to part-qualified/qualified finance professionals who have strong financial/statutory accounting experience looking to really add value within a fast-paced environment. Both industry accountants and financial professionals seeking a move out of accountancy practice will be considered. Your key duties will involve reviewing statutory accounts prepared by the offshore team to ensure accuracy, completeness and appropriate formatting for Group Finance amendments. You will review and approve VAT returns and CIS returns prior to submission to the Group Tax Team; ensure all tax and compliance-related activities are completed accurately and in line with statutory and internal deadlines. You will be involved in leading the delivery of compliance and governance activities performed by the offshore Compliance & Governance team, along with undertaking ad-hoc duties and projects to support the wider business priorities. You will act as a primary liaison between the Finance Shared Service, Group Tax Team, Divisional Finance and the offshore team to provide coaching, technical expertise and support continuous improvement projects.
To be considered for this permanent Financial & Compliance Accountant role, you will have experience in a similar position. Strong knowledge of statutory accounting, Tax, VAT & CIS compliance processes, with high proficiency in MS Excel to be confident working with large data sets. You will have strong communication skills to build internal and external relationships at all levels, used to working within a fast-paced environment managing workloads to meet deadlines. You will be experienced within a range of financial systems, adaptable to organisational needs with a continuous improvement mind-set. You will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or qualified, qualified by experience professionals with relevant experience will be considered. Experience within a large organisation, PLC or Shared Service environment, along with proven supervisory/coaching skills will be advantageous but not essential.
This permanent Financial & Compliance Accountant role offers a salary between £48,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire.
