Based in South Lanarkshire, our client is looking to recruit a Trainee Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or finance professional with an HNC/HND qualification to join a supportive finance team where you will gain exposure to all aspects of accounting whilst working towards a professional qualification.
This role offers an excellent platform to develop your skills across financial accounting, management accounting, costing, inventory management, budgeting and financial reporting within a fast-paced commercial environment.
This is an office-based role and the hours of work are Monday to
Thursday: 08:45-16:45 Friday: 08:45-16:00.
The offices can be accessed by public transport and there is also on-site parking.
Your New Role
As a Trainee Accountant, you will support the wider finance team with a range of accounting and reporting activities, including:
- Assisting with day-to-day accounting transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing supplier invoices, payments and customer receipts
- Supporting bank reconciliations and month-end accounting activities
- Assisting with the monitoring and analysis of production and manufacturing costs
- Preparing product costings and inventory valuation reports
- Participating in stock counts and inventory reconciliations
- Supporting the production of management accounts and financial reporting
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and audit processes
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Collaborating with colleagues across multiple departments
- What You'll Need to Succeed
- HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop a long-term career within finance
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills would be advantageous
