Your new company Hays are delighted to be supporting a charitable organisation in the recruitment of a Part-Time Finance Assistant to join their finance team on an ongoing temporary basis. This is a flexible opportunity offering approximately 21 hours per week, which can be worked across 3, 4 or 5 days, depending on individual preference. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with some office-based collaboration required to support the wider finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and welcoming finance team where your contribution will be highly visible and valued. You'll benefit from flexible working arrangements, a varied workload and the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the finance function.

Your new role Joining a busy finance function, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day transactional finance activities and ensuring financial processes are maintained accurately and efficiently. Duties will include:

  • Managing and monitoring the finance inbox
  • Processing supplier invoices and matching them to purchase orders
  • Chasing invoice approvals and resolving queries
  • Posting invoices onto Sage 50
  • Supporting weekly payment runs
  • Reviewing and processing employee expenses
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations
  • Providing general finance administration support as required

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Finance Administration role
  • Working knowledge of Sage 50
  • Experience of invoice processing and transactional finance procedures
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage your workload effectively within a small team environment
  • A proactive and hands-on approach
  • Confidence in picking up new systems and processes quickly
