Due to the continued growth of their Building Consultancy team, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Senior Building Surveyor to join their established and highly regarded team based in Scotland.
Your new role
As a Chartered Senior Building Surveyor, you will be involved in a diverse range of professional and project-led instruction across a varied property portfolio. This role offers exposure to both traditional building surveying services and high-value project work, providing an excellent variety of career development opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys
- Dilapidations advice and negotiations on behalf of landlords and tenants
- Planned preventative maintenance strategies and condition surveys
- Contract administration and project management
- Refurbishment, fit-out and asset improvement projects
- Defect diagnosis and technical reporting
- Schedules of condition and reinstatement cost assessments
- Building pathology investigations
- Party wall matters and neighbourly issues
- Client relationship management and business development
- Mentoring and supporting junior surveyors within the team
You will work closely with a diverse client base, delivering tailored solutions across both professional and project commissions while contributing to the continued success of the wider business.
What you'll need to succeed
- MRICS qualification and Chartered Building Surveyor status
- Proven experience within a consultancy environment
- Strong technical knowledge of professional building surveying services
- Experience managing refurbishment and construction projects
- Excellent report-writing and client-facing skills
- Commercial awareness and the ability to develop client relationships
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities
- A proactive and collaborative approach to delivering high-quality work
- A full UK driving licence
