Your New Company A leading facilities management and property maintenance organisation is seeking an experienced Gas Responsible Person (GRP) to join their team covering multiple sites across North Yorkshire.

Your New Role We are looking for a technically capable and experienced Gas Responsible Person (GRP) to provide specialist gas safety leadership across a portfolio of sites in North Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring gas systems, networks and associated infrastructure are managed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
Your duties will include
- Acting as the designated point of contact for gas-related technical matters.
- Ensuring compliance with Gas Safety Management Plans (GSMP) and statutory regulations.
- Providing technical support and guidance to maintenance teams and stakeholders.
- Reviewing and approving risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.
- Supporting safe systems of work and ensuring gas-related activities are carried out safely.
- Monitoring gas compliance performance and addressing any issues identified.
- Assessing competence and supporting the development of gas-skilled personnel.
- Collaborating with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders to maintain safe service delivery.
- Supporting gas-related projects and providing specialist technical advice.
- Conducting site inspections and compliance audits across multiple locations.
- Contributing to risk management processes and safety improvement initiatives.
- Providing support during emergency situations when required.
This is a hybrid position, combining home working with regular travel to sites across North Yorkshire.
What You'll Need to Succeed
You will be required to have
- Relevant gas qualifications and industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety management and compliance processes.
- Experience working with commercial and domestic gas systems.
- Understanding of LPG installations and gas distribution networks.
- Experience producing and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Ability to assess competence and provide technical guidance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel across multiple sites.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).
Desirable experience includes
- Gas Safety Management Plans (GSMP).
- Safe Control of Operations (SCO).
- SHEA Gas.
- Escape, Locate and Repair (ELR) activities.
- MOD or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
