A fast-growing international fintech business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its UK finance function. Operating across multiple markets and supporting millions of users, this innovative organisation is continuing to invest in its people, systems and processes as it scales. Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take full ownership of the UK finance operation, ensuring robust financial control, statutory compliance and high-quality financial reporting. You will lead and develop the UK finance team while partnering closely with commercial stakeholders and the wider global finance function. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing the UK finance team, including performance management, succession planning and training.
- Ownership of monthly management accounts, statutory accounts and financial reporting for UK entities.
- Managing the annual audit process and maintaining strong relationships with external auditors.
- Overseeing VAT, corporation tax, HMRC submissions and Companies House compliance.
- Acting as a finance business partner to commercial leadership, providing financial insight on contracts, pricing and renewals.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities alongside FP&A teams.
- Managing treasury, cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.
- Ensuring strong financial controls and ownership of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Overseeing payroll sign-off, supplier payments and operational finance activities.
- Driving process improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects.
- Supporting group consolidation and wider global reporting requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Significant experience managing a full finance function within a commercial environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including UK GAAP, VAT and statutory reporting. xgikmsk
