The Job
This is a newly created Finance Manager position, working 22.5 hours per week across three days, and offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing and embedding an in-house finance function. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Resources, you will take ownership of financial reporting, month-end processes, budgeting support, audit preparation and financial controls. The organisation currently works with an outsourced bookkeeping provider, and you will act as the key finance lead overseeing outputs, ensuring accuracy and supporting continuous improvement. This is a broad and hands-on opportunity combining operational finance, management reporting, business partnering and process improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
Managing month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and control reviews.
Supporting the annual budgeting and planning cycle.
Leading audit preparation and acting as the primary contact for auditors.
Business partnering with budget holders and non-finance colleagues across the organisation.
Overseeing outsourced finance processing and payroll services.
Supporting improvements to systems, processes and reporting.
Assisting with the transition towards a more fully integrated in-house finance function.
Supporting and, in time, managing a Finance Officer.
