Your New Role
Hays Specialist Recruitment are currently recruiting for a qualified Electrician (Level 3) to join a secure site maintenance team at HMP Leyhill near Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large commercial and operational environment, carrying out a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and installation work across a diverse property estate. The role offers long-term stability, varied work and the chance to play a key role in maintaining essential services within a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
- Complete installations, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with current regulations and health & safety standards.
- Complete inspection, testing and maintenance records accurately.
- Support maintenance projects and minor works.
- Escort and supervise contractors when required.
- Maintain compliance with site security procedures and operational requirements.
- Contribute to excellent service delivery across the estate.
What You'll Need
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
- Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Due to the nature of the site, successful applicants will be required to undergo security vetting before commencing employment.
- All applicants must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the UK.
