Hays Education are working in partnership with a secondary school in Eastbourne to recruit a dedicated and flexible Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 4 pupil.
This rewarding role requires an individual who can build positive relationships, provide tailored learning support, and help the student achieve their academic potential across a range of subjects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the pupil both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.
Your new role
You will be working closely with a KS4 student, providing focused support during lessons and assisting them in accessing the curriculum.
- A particular emphasis will be placed on supporting GCSE-level learning in:
- English
- Mathematics
- Art
The timetable operates on a two-week rolling schedule, which includes split shifts, therefore flexibility and reliability are essential.
- What you'll need to succeed
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS4 pupil throughout the school day.
- Support engagement, learning and progress across GCSE subjects.
- Assist with English, Mathematics and Art coursework and lesson activities.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the student to encourage confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEND teams and pastoral colleagues.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback where required.
- Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people within an educational setting.
- Experience supporting learners at GCSE level, particularly in English, Mathematics and Art.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of the pupil.
- Flexible approach to working patterns, including split shifts and a rotating timetable.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
