Behaviour Manager
Location: Dudley
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for a confident and proactive Behaviour Manager to join a secondary school in the Dudley area.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, building positive relationships and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of behaviour across the school, working closely with pupils, teaching staff and the wider pastoral team.
The Role
As Behaviour Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and pastoral needs
- Managing incidents of challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent and professional manner
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis to improve behaviour, engagement and attendance
- Supporting the school's behaviour policies and expectations
- Providing appropriate intervention and restorative support following behavioural incidents
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Working closely with teaching, pastoral and safeguarding staff
- Monitoring behaviour patterns and supporting pupils who require additional intervention
- Helping pupils successfully reintegrate into lessons following periods of intervention
What We're Looking ForWe would love to hear from candidates who:
- Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally within behaviour, pastoral, SEND or inclusion support
- Are confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- Have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Can establish clear boundaries while maintaining positive relationships
- Are resilient, approachable and able to remain calm under pressure
- Have a genuine desire to help young people achieve positive outcomes
