I am recruiting for a Design & Technology Technician to support a thriving Design & Technology department.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping students develop practical skills and creativity in a well-equipped and innovative learning environment.
The successful candidate will provide technical and practical support to teaching staff and students across a range of specialist areas, ensuring that equipment, materials and workshops are maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons.
- Support teachers and students during Design & Technology classes.
- Maintain machinery, tools and specialist equipment in line with health and safety requirements.
- Manage stock levels, order materials and maintain accurate inventories.
- Ensure workshops, classrooms and storage areas are organised, clean and safe.
- Assist with displays, projects, exhibitions and school events where required.
- Carry out routine safety checks and maintain relevant records.
- Support the department in promoting high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Experience of working with tools, machinery and workshop equipment.
- A good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Experience in an educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
