Your new company
We have a new opportunity for a busy manufacturing business in the Diss area, working on a night shift pattern Monday to Friday covering from 9pm to 5am, 42 hours per week. The plant is varied and will require good problem-solving skills and a good understanding of heavy plant equipment.
Your new role
The role of the Engineer is to carry out all aspects of plant maintenance and repair to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the production and intake systems, in order to minimise downtime and deliver business objectives. As an engineer, you should be able to proactively carry out all aspects of plant maintenance to a planned schedule, seeking solutions where abnormalities occur. This requires consistently liaising with the mill team addressing breakdowns or interruptions to production and dealing promptly with any issues, escalating where necessary. An essential aspect of the role is the initiative to drive continuous improvement, reviewing current methodology and opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, quality and performance.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have completed an engineering apprenticeship or hold related qualifications in mechanical and electrical to NVQ/C&G level 3.
As an experienced engineer, you will have an excellent understanding of working with strict safety and quality control procedures and KPI's. A good knowledge of Star Delta and PLC would be of benefit. In addition to this, you should have an understanding of Safe Isolation process.You should also be able to demonstrate good experience of implementing both short-term and long-term solutions and projects in an engineering function covering both electrical and mechanical equipment.
