Your new company
A successful and commercially driven organisation is looking to strengthen its procurement capability with the appointment of an experienced Interim Indirect Procurement Specialist. You'll join a supportive team environment and work with stakeholders across the business, taking ownership of a substantial portfolio where there is genuine scope to improve commercial outcomes and supplier relationships.
Your new role
This is a hands-on interim assignment combining strategic sourcing with operational procurement delivery. You'll take ownership of approximately £20m of indirect spend, with Marketing representing a significant proportion of the portfolio alongside other business services categories. Your remit will include:
- Taking ownership of key indirect sourcing projects from requirement definition through to contract award
- Working with stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge spend and identify the best route to market
- Running formal tender exercises, including supplier evaluation, scoring and selection
- Negotiating commercial terms and establishing effective supplier agreements
- Reviewing the existing supply base and identifying opportunities for consolidation and improved value
- Building effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Providing commercial input across Marketing and wider indirect spend
- Managing a combination of strategic projects and day-to-day procurement requirements
- Supporting purchasing activity and resolving supply or commercial issues when required
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an experienced Indirect Buyer, Procurement Specialist or Category Manager who can quickly get up to speed and operate independently. You will bring:
- Strong indirect procurement and strategic sourcing experience
- Proven experience running competitive tender processes
- Confident supplier negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience developing supplier evaluation and scoring methodologies
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A commercial, pragmatic and delivery-focused mindset
- Experience within Marketing procurement would be advantageous
- Exposure to a large or complex organisation would be beneficial
