Hays Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Coventry who are looking for a Year 5 Teacher to cover a maternity leave from January until the end of the academic year.
The school has a supportive staff team and a positive working environment, with teachers working closely together across KS2. The leadership team are approachable and supportive, and the school is looking for someone who will settle into the team and provide consistency for the class throughout the remainder of the year.
Your new role
This is a full-time Year 5 teaching role starting in January and running until the end of the academic year.
You will take on the usual class teacher responsibilities, including planning, teaching, assessment and monitoring pupil progress. As this is a long-term maternity cover, the school is looking for someone who can fully commit to the class, build good relationships with the children and work closely with the wider KS2 team.
This would suit a KS2 teacher looking for the security of a longer-term role from January.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent KS2 teaching experience
- Ideally, experience within Year 5 or Upper KS2
- Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
- Confident classroom and behaviour management
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons across the curriculum
- A reliable and team-focused approach
