Building Surveyor | FTC
I'm working with a well-established housing organisation seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team on a fixed-term basis.
The role centres around inspecting homes, identifying defects, producing recommendations, and helping deliver improvements across a residential portfolio.
Technical Experience
Experience diagnosing condensation, penetrating damp, rising damp and mould growth.
Knowledge of building pathology and defect diagnosis.
Experience carrying out HHSRS assessments.
Understanding of Awaab's Law and current housing regulations.
Experience within social housing, local authority or housing association environments.
Knowledge of repairs, maintenance and planned works programmes.
Experience specifying remedial works and managing contractors.
Understanding of ventilation systems and building performance.
Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Building Surveying, Construction, Property Maintenance or similar.
RICS, CIOB, CABE or RPSA membership.
HHSRS Certification.
Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification.
Retrofit Assessor or Retrofit Coordinator qualification.
Project & Contract Management
Experience managing damp and mould remediation projects.
Contractor performance management experience.
Budget management and cost control.
Experience preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documents.
Knowledge of JCT contracts.
Housing Sector Knowledge
Experience working with responsive repair teams.
Understanding of disrepair claims and housing litigation.
Experience dealing with Environmental Health notices.
Knowledge of Decent Homes Standards.
Understanding of asset management principles.
