The OpportunityAn established financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Arrears Advisor to join its customer support team on an initial contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive team, helping customers who may be experiencing financial difficulties.The successful candidate will manage customer accounts in arrears, provide guidance on available support options and work with customers to find sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of customer accounts in arrears.
  • Contacting customers by telephone, email and written correspondence.
  • Understanding individual customer circumstances and identifying appropriate support options.
  • Agreeing affordable repayment arrangements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and account activity.
  • Ensuring all customer conversations are handled fairly and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Working towards service and quality standards.
  • Liaising with internal departments to resolve account queries.
  • Supporting vulnerable customers and signposting where appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience with arrears, collections, recoveries, financial support, debt management or customer service.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally and empathetically.
  • Strong attention to detail and administration skills.
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and managing a varied workload.
  • Financial services, banking, lending or mortgage experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
