Hays are currently working in partnership with a highly successful business based on the outskirts of Cambridge to recruit a new Part-Time Finance Manager. This company is part of a larger group structure and has a specialist product line with a global reach.
Your new role
This role will report to a Fractional FD and Managing Director of the business and will be responsible for managing financial operations and reporting across the company. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage a team of 2 finance staff and support their development
- Oversee all transactional finance (AP, AR, Credit Control)
- Oversee monthly payroll processes
- Take ownership for reviewing processes, identifying areas of improvement and delivering change
- Streamlining financial processes
- Improve monthly reporting cycles
- Work with senior leadership to deliver insightful MI and business partner sales and operations.
- Review and manage escalated credit control issues
- Bank reconciliations in multiple currencies
- PAYE, tax and NI payment control
- Annual stat reporting and audit management
- Review and support regular budgeting and forecasting process
This is a part-time role working circa 20 hours per week. Ideally, this will be across 5 days and have an office presence, but different working patterns and hybrid working will be considered for the right candidate.
What you'll need to succeed
- Significant previous experience in a similar finance leadership role
- Have an affinity and appetite for improving systems and processes
- Have a positive attitude and ability to 'get into the detail'
- Experience in management or supervising staff
- Ideally, hold a recognised accounting qualification, but this is not essential
What you'll get in return
