Due to continued expansion within the finance function, they are looking to appoint an Accountant to join their high-performing finance team based in Caerphilly.

Your new role

Working as part of a large finance team and reporting into senior finance leadership, you will support multiple operational sites and play an important role in delivering accurate financial reporting and business insight.

This is a hands-on accounting position with a strong focus on month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity, financial analysis and stakeholder support.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Producing site and business unit financial reports
  • Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining financial controls
  • Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Working alongside operational teams to understand financial performance
  • Supporting financial reporting across multiple UK locations
  • Analysing costs, overheads and operational performance
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects
  • Working closely with senior accountants and finance leadership on ad hoc reporting requirements
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous experience within a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or Financial Accountant position
  • Strong month-end and management accounting experience
  • Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial information
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders

Desirable

  • Manufacturing, operational or stock accounting exposure
  • Experience supporting multiple business units or locations
  • Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or Qualified by Experience
  • Experience within a shared service or large corporate environment
