A well-established organisation within the hospitality sector is seeking an experienced Income Auditor to join their finance team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who can hit the ground running and support the business during a busy period. Candidates with previous hotel or hospitality experience will be particularly well suited to this role.
Your new role
As an Income Auditor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily revenue auditing activities, ensuring all income streams are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. You will work closely with operational teams to investigate discrepancies, maintain revenue controls, and support month-end processes.Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting daily income audits and reviewing revenue transactions.
- Validating revenue across accommodation, food and beverage, events, leisure and other income streams.
- Investigating and resolving revenue variances, adjustments, refunds, cancellations and discrepancies.
- Reconciling data between operational and financial systems.
- Reviewing card payments, online booking channels and cash reconciliations.
- Preparing revenue journals, reconciliations and reporting documentation.
- Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities.
- Supporting operational teams with revenue processes and best practice guidance.
- Identifying process improvements to strengthen controls and reporting accuracy.
- Liaising with stakeholders across multiple departments to resolve revenue-related queries.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within an Income Auditor, Revenue Auditor or similar finance role.
- Hospitality or hotel industry experience would be highly desirable.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Experience working with multiple financial and operational systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both finance and operational teams.
- Ability to manage workloads independently and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Available to start immediately or at short notice
What you'll get in return
