We are seeking an Information Governance Officer to join a busy organisation on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced information governance professional to support information rights, data protection and records management activities within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in responding to information requests, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection legislation, and working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide accurate and timely information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and respond to Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Subject Access Requests (SARs)
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, Data Protection legislation and information governance policies
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the organisation to obtain information and coordinate responses to requests
  • Review information and make informed decisions regarding disclosure and redaction
  • Support records management activities, including retention and disposal processes
  • Provide practical guidance on information governance and best practice
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to information requests

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Experience handling FOI, EIR and Subject Access Requests
  • Good working knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection legislation
  • Previous experience within an Information Governance, Information Rights or Records Management role
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong customer service skills
