Your new company
Hays are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Multi-Academy Trust supporting schools across Bolton for a School Finance Officer / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on an initial 3-month temporary contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable professional looking to join a busy and supportive finance function.
Your new role
You will support the day-to-day operation of the finance function, with responsibilities including:
- Processing a high volume of supplier invoices
- Managing and maintaining the finance inbox
- Handling supplier queries and resolving discrepancies
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Assisting with payment runs
- Supporting the finance activities of a secondary school within the Trust
- Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team
- What you'll need to succeed
- Strong Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- School finance experience would be beneficial but is not essential
- Available to start at short notice or immediately
