These roles sit within a developing procurement function and offer the opportunity to lead category strategies, deliver complex procurement activity, and provide commercial expertise across a diverse portfolio of spend.We are seeking experienced procurement professionals with strong end-to-end procurement knowledge who can operate confidently across one of the following specialist areas: 1. Place & Environment: Hard and Soft FM Capital Works Construction Property & Estate Services Regeneration Programmes 2. Digital & IT Technology and Digital Services Software and Hardware Procurement Cloud Services Cybersecurity Telecommunications Digital Transformation Programmes 3. Corporate Services Human Resources Finance Professional Services Children's Services Corporate Support Functions The Role As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for delivering strategic sourcing and procurement activity across your assigned category area, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement legislation and organisational governance requirements.You will: Lead end-to-end procurement exercises from strategy development through to contract award and implementation. Develop and deliver category management plans aligned to organisational priorities. Provide commercial and procurement advice to stakeholders across the business. Manage competitive tender processes and supplier engagement activities. Support contract management and supplier performance initiatives. Identify opportunities to deliver value for money, efficiencies and social value outcomes. Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and wider public sector procurement regulations. Utilise the organisations Intend eProcurement system throughout the procurement life cycle. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and key partners. About You
