An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a public sector organisation with a strong focus on commercial improvement and value for money. This is an influential role offering ownership of strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier performance across a significant category portfolio.
Your new role
As Procurement Manager, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity and act as a trusted commercial adviser to senior stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering category and sourcing strategies
- Leading complex, high-value tender and procurement exercises
- Managing commercial negotiations and contractual agreements
- Identifying and delivering measurable savings and efficiencies
- Analysing spend and market data to identify commercial opportunities
- Managing strategic suppliers, performance reviews and improvement plans
- Driving supplier rationalisation and supply chain efficiencies
- Providing expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders
- Embedding social value, commercial governance and effective risk management
- Ensuring procurement activity follows relevant policies, legislation and audit requirements
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrable working knowledge of PA23 or PCR2015 is essential, ideally TPP certified.
- Strong strategic sourcing and category management experience
- Proven experience leading complex tendering and contract negotiations
- A track record of delivering significant savings and commercial benefits
- Strong supplier and contract management expertise
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation capabilities
- Experience interpreting complex spend, supplier and financial information
- A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach
