About the Opportunity

An established property services and maintenance contractor is seeking a qualified Electrician to join its growing team in Basildon.

This role offers the opportunity to work across residential properties, delivering high-quality electrical repairs, testing, inspection, and installation works within a customer-focused maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, testing, inspection, and installation works.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current BS7671 regulations.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
  • Complete all work to a high standard, achieving first-time fix targets where possible.
  • Accurately record job information using PDA/mobile technology.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Attend toolbox talks, team meetings, and technical briefings.
  • Deliver excellent customer service when working within occupied properties.
  • Manage materials effectively and complete work within agreed timescales.
  • Work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 12 months).
  • Gold ECS Card or currently working towards obtaining one.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • Electrical Testing qualification(s). 2391
  • Proven experience working within a similar electrical maintenance or installation role.

You Must Hold One of the Following Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation - Buildings & Structures)
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment
  • City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory and Practice Part 2
  • Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology

Desirable Experience

  • Social housing maintenance.
  • Responsive repairs and planned maintenance environments.
  • Working within occupied residential properties.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical fault-finding and testing procedures.
