Our client is a well-established engineering contractor with extensive experience delivering major infrastructure and projects across the UK and Europe. Known for their commitment to safety, quality and project excellence, they operate across the energy, industrial and commercial sectors, providing innovative engineering solutions on some of the region's most significant developments. Most recently, they have started winning projects in the UK within the energy industry working on substations.
Your new role
You will be working as a Site Engineer for a Power Tier One Contractor who have a strong pipeline of work within the Midlands region and be responsible for the setting out of energy/power projects which involve substations. As these projects are across the whole Midlands region, you will be working on multiple different sites within the week and be required to travel between each site.
As an Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Setting out and surveying: Marking out boundaries, levels, and positions on site using Trimble equipment
- Technical oversight: Checking design drawings, ensuring accuracy, and providing hands-on technical advice to workers.
- Quality and safety: Enforcing safety rules, monitoring health and safety compliance, and inspecting materials.
- Project coordination: Liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and clients to keep work on schedule and within budget.
- Documentation: Maintaining site diaries, daily progress reports, and "as-built" records
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will have experience working as a Site Engineer within the Civil Engineering industry and this can be across all sectors such as highways, rail, water and power. Furthermore, having experience using Trimble GPS is very advantageous but not essential as long as you are willing to learn and be able to adapt to using Trimble equipment.
As this role does require travel to multiple locations across the Midlands region, you must be happy to travel and maybe lodge when this is necessary.
